Care & Maintenance

GENERAL FLOOR CARE INFORMATION

Initial Care – Clean the floor thoroughly by sweeping or vacuuming. Use Pinnacle Floor Cleaner or an approved floor cleaner, following manufacturer directions.

Routine Care – Just sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dust and grime which may dull or scratch the finish. Clean occasionally with Pinnacle Floor Cleaner. Use a soft cloth to apply and remove the cleaner. Problem marks can be removed with acetone applied to a soft cloth, and then cleaned with Pinnacle Floor Cleaner. Wipe up spills as soon as possible to avoid problems.

Preventive Maintenance – Use small rugs or walk-off mats at all entries to prevent grit and moisture from being tracked in. Use an area rug in front of kitchen sinks to protect the floor from spills. Area rugs should be slip-resistant with a backing that will not discolor the floor. Do not use area rugs or non-skid rug underlayments with a solid rubber or vinyl backing.

Use floor protector pads under heavy furniture such as cabinets, dining room tables, sofas and
entertainment centers with feet to reduce the risk of indentation. Felt floor protectors versus rubber or plastic are recommended to help prevent scrapes and scratches from furniture being moved. On furniture so equipped, use cylinder type casters versus ball casters to reduce the risk of indentation by distributing weight more evenly.

Sweep or vacuum regularly. Never damp mop with water. Water can permanently damage the floor. Use Pinnacle Floor Cleaner or other approved wood floor cleaners to remove spills or spots.

Avoid wearing shoes with worn stiletto or spike heels (the type with exposed metal pins) as they cause indentions and will damage the floor. Rolling or sliding heavy objects across the floor can cause damage such as scratches or indentations. Pet claws should be trimmed regularly as they may scratch the finish of the floor. The performance of a wood floor is greatly influenced by the environmental conditions of the room. Temperatures and relative humidity that we find comfortable are also favorable for hardwood flooring. A temperature of 70° F and a relative humidity between 35% and 50% are ideal. Use a humidifier during drier times of the year to help reduce or eliminate gaps between boards caused by excessive drying of the wood. Dehumidifiers or air conditioners can be used to prevent wood floors from swelling and buckling by reducing high humidity levels.

AMERICANA COLLECTION WARRANTY

Pinnacle wood floors are manufactured to the highest standards in the wood flooring industry and feature a Lifetime Structural Integrity Warranty that covers manufacturing defects including dimension, grading, assembly and delamination. Pinnacle products are warranted to the original purchaser only, and are subject to certain limitations, disclaimers and exclusions set forth herein.

Finish Warranty: Pinnacle Interior Elements, Ltd. warrants the finish on all Americana Strip and Plank Collection floors to the original purchaser for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase when installed in residential settings. During the warranty period, Pinnacle Interior Elements, Ltd. agrees to repair or replace that part of the flooring which is found defective with product of the same pattern and quality, or another pattern of equal value at Pinnacle's sole discretion. Scratches, cuts or damages from impact are not covered by this warranty.

Natural Products: Due to the nature of wood flooring and variations inherent in wood, small samples of these products may not be representative of the floor's overall appearance. All Americana Strip and Plank Collection products are intended to be unique in color and graining. It is these naturally unique properties that give each floor their individuality.

Color Shading: It is possible that some floors may experience changes in color when exposed to light for extended periods of time. The degree of color and shade change will vary from wood species to wood species. Large area rugs and furniture should be repositioned frequently to avoid a drastic change in the floors' color and shade.

Indentations: Indentations can occur in all wood flooring and are not considered a defect. The uniform grain structure of some wood species, including maple, may cause the indentations to appear more noticeable.

Warranty Exclusions: This warranty shall not apply to loss or damage arising from any of the following:
• Accidents, abuse, misuse or insufficient protection
• Exposure to extreme heat, cold, arid or humid conditions, flooding or subterranean moisture
• Failure to install or use this product in accordance with the installation specifications
• Improper adhesive, caulk or filler, cleaning materials or surface coatings
• Natural disasters or acts of God
• Improper maintenance

• Accidents, abuse, misuse or insufficient protection
• Exposure to extreme heat, cold, arid or humid conditions, flooding or subterranean moisture
• Failure to install or use this product in accordance with the installation specifications
• Improper adhesive, caulk or filler, cleaning materials or surface coatings
• Natural disasters or acts of God
• Improper maintenance

Installer's Responsibility: It is the installer's responsibility to check color, finish and quality prior to installation. Pinnacle Interior Elements, Ltd. accepts no responsibility for costs incurred when a floor with visible defects has been installed.

STONELEIGH CLASSICS COLLECTION WARRANTY

Finish Warranty: Pinnacle Interior Elements, Ltd. warrants the finish on all Stoneleigh Classics floors to the original purchaser for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of purchase when installed in residential settings, and five (5) years when installed in light commercial settings. During the warranty period, Pinnacle Interior Elements, Ltd. agrees to repair or replace that part of the flooring which is found defective with product of the same pattern and quality, or another pattern of equal value at Pinnacle's sole discretion. Scratches, cuts or damages from impact are not covered by this warranty.

Natural Products: Due to the nature of wood flooring and variations inherent in wood, small samples of these products may not be representative of the floor's overall appearance. All Stoneleigh Classics products are intended to be unique in color and graining. It is these naturally unique properties that give each floor their individuality.

We recognize that your ultimate satisfaction is dependent upon the quality of our products and the actions of our people and those of our partners that deliver and install our products.

Providing the appropriate product for every application and insuring that the product is installed in a correct manner requires a significant level of knowledge about the flooring industry. This level of professionalism requires a long-term commitment to the industry. Pinnacle, through its distributors, attempts to align itself with quality companies and individuals. Our intention is to have our products sold only through our aligned partners. Our distributor partners as professionals within the floor covering industry have qualified this network of dealers, contractors and design firms. The owners have committed their companies to provide the marketing and sales tools necessary for a superior buying experience, and properly trained mechanics to install the products.

As sales of floor covering products on the Internet have grown, many new outlets have emerged offering our products to the public. We are unable to verify either their professionalism or their ability to provide the correct Pinnacle product for the correct application. As a result, we caution prospective buyers in their selection of an Internet source for purchasing Pinnacle products. In the event of a problem arising from the incorrect application of a Pinnacle product, consumers should be aware that Pinnacle would not recognize a warranty claim prior to the job-site being inspected by both the retailer and distributor that sold the product. The retailer must provide Pinnacle with proof that the material was first quality material when it was purchased and not seconds or special run materials. In evaluating any Internet product offering, consumers should confirm if listed price includes delivery charges for the material and other associated sundry products required for the installation.
